EDELRID is part of the VAUDE group. EDELRID has been producing technical mountaineering gear since the 1950s. In 2001 the family owners sold the company and for a few years EDELRID took a back seat in the climbing market. The change of ownership means we are now an independent technical climbing company within the VAUDE group setting a new course for the future. “Unfolding the future” is our new slogan and at the same time our mission. Developing and producing products that will be defining the future of our sport.
The well known hardware company Lucky has become part of EDELRID and the brand name lucky will be absorbed into EDELRID. The company in Barcelona, Spain remains of course and together we will be developing many innovative products in the future
Colour has become very important and what was started in 2005 with our new corporate image is now being practised throughout the product range. A harness with a complimentary rope, chalk bag and rope bag usable together or individually. We are using light complimentary colours to blend and not clash with clothing being worn. Research has shown women take great care when purchasing products that they match and look good with the things they already have. Women purchase twice as much as men who tend to ignore, for them, such irrelevant
details as colour. On the other hand most men ask a woman’s opinion before purchasing anything.
The attention to fashion has not detracted from the fact that EDELRID products are PPE. Our primary priority in all our products is quality and safety leaving you to enjoy the mountains and climbing.
