The Shikra is particularly good for trad climbing where a double “sport” rope is needed. Its slightly thicker diameter and thicker sheath provide an extra margin of of safety when one rope is heavily loaded during a fall or when climbing in a team of three. The Shikra‘s special double sport braid construction provides extra abrasion protection on particularly rough rock like sandstone or granite.
